Esther! great stuff! i love the colors especially on the dragon fly, and great job on the two viewpoints. my biggest critique would be for the centipede. I'm assuming the yellow stripes are light hitting the top of the form. but they are a little inconsistant. There's no light on the front pincers or hitting the smoke stacks, and im very curious about what it looks like from the front and top. a 3/4 view would've been better. otherwise, great job!
Good job Esther. Alright my first impression is that they read well as insect designed machine/vehicles, and that the style is consistent. Second impression is that they kind of look like miniatures. I believe that some size variation in the design could help create the illusion that they are bigger. I also like there is some contrast between the two machines the centipede looks like an environment destroying pollution machine. Where as the dragonfly looks like it could be the protector of the forest. It's easy to tell which one belongs to the good guys.
I really like how you showed the two modes for the dragonfly and the colors work well with the red around the eyes. Great idea for the centipede, without showing too much detail if you add some envoronment like small trees for size comparison it might help with scale
I agree with everyone on dragonfly - thanks for giving us two views of it. I like the color choices on both insects - they feel like they are part of the same world and they clearly show which bug we should be rooting for. I feel like the designs for both are a little stiff though. I don't know if that's what you were going for but having a few more points of articulation or showing how the mechanics might function would be helpful. Also, the scale of the centipede is a little confusing. How big is it? The smokestacks and bulldozer attachments make me think it's huge. Maybe altering the design a bit would get that across? Resolving it in to bigger shapes might help. I like the idea of this train sized monster centipede going around bulldozing things. :)
I agree with what everyone has said so far. You color choice was fantastic. I would have to agree that they look like miniatures, so adding some trees. What would be cool of the centipede to help with it's is to have smaller bug vehicles drones dropping supplies into it's back. Having a few more points of articulation or showing how the mechanics work will help make things look less stiff. Great work!
